Sleeping Lions was founded by Pete Stevenson in 1983. Over forty years on, the business is still built on the same values that Pete started with: careful craftsmanship, honest advice and fitting furniture that genuinely improves the way people live in their homes.
Today, Pete runs the business alongside his business partner Paul Leonard. Between them, they design and install every single piece of work - you'll always deal directly with the people actually doing the job.

Pete Stevenson
I’m a City & Guilds trained cabinet maker with over 40 years’ experience in bespoke fitted furniture. My career began in traditional furniture making and antique restoration before moving into fitted bedrooms and home offices after working in Australia.
Having installed, trained fitters and surveyors, and worked with many of the industry’s leading companies, I founded my own business to deliver high-quality fitted furniture tailored to each client’s home and lifestyle. From small flats to large homes, I still take great pride in creating practical, beautifully finished furniture that truly works for the space.
Paul Leonard
I’ve been making fitted furniture for over 10 years and genuinely enjoy helping people transform their homes with furniture that’s built specifically for them. From wardrobes and media units to custom storage solutions, I take pride in creating pieces that not only look great but also make the most of the space available. I personally handle every project with care and attention to detail, and I believe in providing a friendly, reliable service from the first conversation through to the final installation.
